ok thanks guys I mainly wanted to know if there was any big red light regarding one of the choices. It seems that no one has had anything blow up due to NF3 or SI3512 sata so that is the biggest question answered.
As far as use...The sata drive is the storage drive in my mythtv box, so it isnt mission critical performance. I doubt the load I put on it will show noticable difference based on the controller. Of course, I dont want to lose 400GB of recordings but I have not heard of either controller causing fatal data corruption. FYI: I put it on the NForce3 Ultra controller This board will raid all the drives if I want....I dont but maybe one day I will get a palate of satas and load it up for s&g by then I will have upgraded once or twice so I could make a dedicated NAS out of it ahh fun to daydream --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "NLUG" group.
