We once set up BackupPC and Dirvish for remote backup for a client and 
had serious difficulties in a low bandwidth environment.  The backups 
would always freeze up.  I would be interested in other's comments about 
how to manage, as in keep these running, such an environment.  How to 
measure and monitor...  This may have been a quality of service (QoS) 
that we did not address.
