Has anyone ran across a good F/OSS POS system that runs on linux? I have some friends that have a restaurant and the standard cash register they have doesnt cut it on busy nights. I have done some searching around and i see a phppos and then openbravo. openbravo pos seems to be a lot like what we are thinking about. It handles tables, i think it handles tabs and is touch screen (which i may be back on here asking about good touchscreen monitors for linux). from what i am reading on their site, the POS system is free, as in beer. but its not conclusive (at least to me).
Anyways, just wondering if anyone has ventured into this arena and what your thoughts/experiences are about it.
