In 1975 we got TSO at work and we could 'message', but it was local only. Around '78 was the first time I saw Darpanet. A guy brought a 1200 baud acoustic coupled 'electronic teletype' to a computer club meeting. We were in El Paso, and dialed into his work at White Sands Missile Range. We talked online to operators at Stanford and MIT ... boy that was hot for back then!
