Gents, I have an interesting issue. I thought at first it might be my new N Wireless router, but the problem doesn't appear with the 3.1.9 kernel, or with my android tablet.
As long as I ping the gateway (which is not the wireless router) my connection will generally stay active. If I don't it seems to just die randomly as soon as I try to use it again after any period of inactivity. (as little as seconds). The connection still shows as up, but it just acts like it can't get anywhere. After I disconnect and reconnect it works fine for a little while, or maybe for several minutes, but then will just cease transporting any data. Anyone seen this before? I've tried searching for it but I'm not having any luck. It could be because I may not be describing it the same way it appears on some bug report. "wireless dropping" doesn't really help, 'cause the connection itself doesn't drop. I have found that generally speaking A LOT of people are having problems with Wireless in Fedora. making me seriously consider using Linux MINT KDE instead, it just came out. the problem there is I'll probably have to go back to using the "pci=noacpi" switch again. (yes, the problem happened with that switch as well). -- See Ya' Howard Coles Jr. John 3:16 -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "NLUG" group.
