Which goes back to my statement: "They [ubuntu] are building for tablets
and smartphones which do not exist yet."

This is a temporary hack. I would fully expect some gesture to make the
menu navigation smoother.

It was very insightful for me as well. I had no idea that my notions of
computing had changed as much as they have.
 There is a real chance that moving forward the mass public will gain
somewhat of an amnesia over what a desktop experience is.
