Our customer is seeking a Linux Systems Engineer.

Location: San Antonio, TX

Duration: 6+ months

Responsibilities:

Work with cutting edge technology in the cloud computing space
Provide Fanatical Support to co-workers and our customers through your 
innovative solutions that create sustainable and maintainable environments
Install, configure, update and troubleshoot services such as Apache, MySQL, 
Postgres, Java, Puppet, Scale and many others
Collaborate with Engineers and System Administrators on technical issues
Qualifications:

Required:

Fundamental knowledge of servers/computers hardware and software
Excellent problem solving skills with a desire to take on responsibility
Extensive knowledge of the Linux operating system
Experience with shell and Perl scripting
Experience with Java application servers, Ruby, or Python
Experience building, deploying, troubleshooting and maintaining web services
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate 
technical issues to nontechnical and technical audiences
Experience working in a large scale operational environment
Preferred:

Technical certifications (i.e., Red Hat, UCP, CompTIA, MySQL)
Virtualization and strong networking knowledge
Experience working in the cloud computing industry
Experience with Openstack
Experience with Puppet or Chef
Experience with Nexus, Jenkins, or Hudson
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent work 
experience
