It will be interesting to see how this washes out in the market place. The real 'voters' are purchasers. If folks don't like it, some manufacturer will sell systems or MB that are or can be 'security disabled', if the market for 'secure boards' doesn't show up.
Industry 'needs' get trumped by 'security', but economics trumps both in the long run. No customers, not industry.
