The reviews I read before I bought the Xerox did not speak kindly to the cost of the toner. Some of that is just sour grapes; printers have used the razor / razor blade marketing approach for years and yes the manufacturers are trying every trick in the book to prevent knock off replacement cartridges from taking their gold mine.
My decision criteria on the Xerox was the network connectivity and PostScript / PCL 6...
