I have never gone through a standard printer find for the Xerox printers at
work. Have always gone to the Xerox web site, downloaded the drivers, i.e.
PPDs (normally bundled for several printers), and manually specified
everything. Sometimes I have found the PPD already available in the list,
but that is rare. Glad there are some Linux systems out there that will.

When we looked at printers (and the office does LOTS of printing), the
Xerox printers stood out. Of course the industry standard toner cost
estimate of 5% coverage/page is ridiculously low if you are doing anything
more than standard text. Yes the cartridges cost a mint, but they last a
long time too (if you buy the high capacity ones).

On a related note, Vanderbilt Housing is in the process of looking for a
new printer. And Xerox is not a guaranteed pick for the replacements.
