There are still a few free Usenet servers out there; if I recall the name correctly, one is aoie.org (googling that will probably find it, if I have misspelled it). I recommend news.individual.net, which costs ten Euros (currently about fifteen dollars US) per year. They are quite effective at blocking spam, which, on an unfiltered news feed, can outnumber the on-topic messages. I have had an account with them for about fifteen years. -- John F.
