Would you believe....
We install our Informix based ERP system on linux systems and have many
installed. We do load the graphical user interface on our servers (and
it comes in handy, some). Those who have worked with xrdp know it has
something of a checkered history. So far it works for us -- except.
I'm the only one of the bunch that uses linux as their desktop system.
My colleagues open up their Windows [ XP | 7 ] Remote Desktop
Connection, link to the customer in question (over a Cisco VPN) and go
at it. (This where the funky part comes in) I am able to use [
rdesktop | Remmina ] to connect to the RHEL [ 3 | 4 | 5 ] systems and
_some_ CentOS systems, but not all. Usually, I have to connect to a
Windows box with Remmina and _then_ RDC to the remote linux systems!!!
At the risk of being trite - WTF?!
Of course I get useless error messages.
I'm getting very tired of meeting oncoming trains in dark tunnels.
