We have had a discussion on some of the new tech coming out. I am starting to become more interested in what to do with it.
The new Intel, ARM, PIC, etc systems are all great platforms, but those are the nuts and bolts to get it done, but my real question on this is: - What do YOU want to do? - What is a 'next big thing' you would like to see? Here are a couple of my thoughts: - Wearables for environmental and health monitoring - (O2, CO2, temperature, humidity/moisture, etc), data logging that, processing it, and even uploading it 'auto-magically'. - Displays - use what we have - I see display devices are in their glory today, phones, HUD glasses, Dick-Tracy-esque wrist bands, etc. A new generation of devices should possibly use them rather than build new interface methods or displays. - Integration - We already have processors in tooth brushes, toasters, vibrators, blenders, ovens, and the integration is still and issue. Apple has worked hard at making their own closed ecosystem of devices in the computing, communication, and entertainment areas. It would be great to see an open system - but given it is open and subject to creaping-featurism (the one thing that I see Jobs worked at keeping out of the Apple ecosystem) it will be hard to keep it concise and focused. Now, what are YOUR ideas on this? How can we help make it happen? ><> ... Jack "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart"...
