Howdy,

Back in Ye Olden Days, PhreakNIC and NLUG did a lot of mutually beneficial
stuff together. We'd like to return to that sort of arrangement, so PhreakNIC
is providing NLUG with some of our convention space to do, well, whatever you
want. Non-stop installfest? Classes and training sessions? Mini-convention
inside PhreakNIC? All of the above? Sure, go for it; let us know what we can do
to help.

The convention is Halloween weekend at the Millennium Maxwell House:

We've got most of the hotel's convention space; you can see the layout here:

We've set aside the Forum room for NLUG; it seats ~70 people classroom style,
and can be divided in half should you wish to split the room. You'll have it
starting 8:00am Thursday, Oct 30th through 11:59pm Sunday, Nov 2nd. If you need
more space for larger events (ie - talks or panel discussions with "big
names"), we can accommodate you, as we also have the entire Grande Ballroom and
the International room, too (apparently there will be some sort of bodybuilding
event in the Embassy room, which should be interesting, and a wedding
reception/party in the 10th floor Crown Ballroom - annoy the bride at your
peril).

If you want to book a guest room at the Maxwell House, the group code is
1410PNICON; the group rate is $105/night + free wireless internet, compared the
usual ~$160/night + "internet costs extra".

So, wadda y'all wanna do? Howard might have some suggestions, as this is
similar to the arrangement we had back in 2000 & 2001.

PS - We're having a planning session this Sunday; NLUG members are welcome.

Howdy folks,

PhreakNIC 18 meeting, NLUG members invited as well.
Sunday, May 18th; 1:00pm-3:00pm

Andrew is out of town, so we're not meeting at Codex Labs. Instead, our
anonymous music taper/speaker (who is also a food critic) suggested Sal's
Family Pizza in Franklin; it's about 5-7 minutes from Codex Labs. Here's their
website & location via google maps:

http://www.mysals.com/

Street addy & phone#s if you need 'em:

595 Hillsboro Rd
Independence Square, Suite 311
Franklin, TN 37064
(615) 472-8387 & (615) 472-8419

I checked the place out earlier today; the food is very good, so are the
prices, they have space for us, lots of parking, free wi-fi. Mr. Anon Taper
says it's the closest thing to a NYC pizza place you'll find in middle TN & I
agree.

If you plan on attending, please drop me a line. I told the folks at Sal's I'd
give them a rough headcount ahead of time.
