I know probably very simple, but somehow I'm not finding any instructions online.
In my case the VM only runs when I happen to need to run the VM (i.e. when I have to do Windows programs) so there is no issue with doing this on a running VM. I want to install an updated host OS (I think it would be best to install rather than upgrade yet again), and keep the KVM virtual host. (Planning to keep /home but probably wiping everything else.) I see the files in /home/kvm/images/win7/ I did a virsh dumpxml win7 > win7.xml to get the current xml for how it is set up. Is there anything else I need to do/save? How do I "get it back" after installing the new Linux host OS? I know instructions must be out there, but I've looked for hours but I haven't found anything specifically addressing this. Thanks!
