I use nothing but Linux and Linux derivatives like Android at home, and FreeBSD on some personal servers, just to have something that's different. For routing gear that can't be flashed with something like dd-wrt, I just leave the stock firmware intact.
Windows was banished from my network a long time ago. I do have an XP virtual machine, but it isn't networked and its sole function is to play Win98 era games. The urge to turn it on strikes me perhaps twice a year. I also don't do Apple products, which Howard can confirm based on my last interaction with the mac mini in the lecture room.
