1. I had a hard time to upgrade my tablet to Windows 10 this weekend, but
because it complained for space even when I managed to free up 21.6 GB with
tedious work (well above the required 20GB). It also restarts itself like 4
times during the procedure, that's very far from a one time restart of a
dist upgrade.
2. On the other hand it wasn't easy to install Linux to my "new"
second-hand machine, finally it's booting. I went with btrfs striping.
3. If you don't need native hardware (like GPUs for computation project),
then you can go with a VM. I have dual boots on all of my machines, the
downside is that one of the OS is dominant, and the other OS sometimes gets
unmaintained.
