I would suggest the 1800 - it's 24 ports, there is one fan, and in all
likelihood if it's annoying you could replaced it with a slower speed
quieter one.  I have an 1800 at home, which was made without a fan.  I
believe on the later series they did add the air mover, but mine has never
been a problem.

When I say it's (somewhat) managed, it's not a full-on managed switch where
you can disable ports.  You can set up VLANs, trunks, etc.  The management
interface is web only.  They're a pain to set up, but rock-solid reliable
once the setup is done.
