nmh problems with mts.conf

Help! I am trying to get nmh to get my mail from the local host but it 
cotinues to look for the pop3 host. I have commented out the pophost: entry in 
the mts.conf but inc still asks for the pop3 username.. I have also tried 
changing the pop3 host to localhost but it still asks for the pop3 username of 
the old server. obviously nmh is not reading the changes to the mts.conf how 
do i fix this?
