Got a chance to look at the new nmh web site today. I must say I don't think making it white text on a black background is a good idea. The default blue and purple link colors are too dark and are extremely difficult to read against a black background (both on my AIX workstation's 8-bit-color 1280x1024 display and my PC's 24-bit-color 1024x768 display, each of which has the brightness cranked up). I know white on black looks more striking than black on white or grey, but I don't know that nmh in particular _needs_ a striking-looking web site. I'd say one that's easy to read is more appropriate. Another big problem with #FFFFFF-colored text is that most browsers (esp. Netscape) honor the text color but not the background color when printing, so you get white on white and empty printouts. Doug, I know that nice logo you designed won't look as classy in a frame on a light-colored page, but I'd say the tradeoff is worth it. Oh, and one typo on the opening page -- it should be "shell commands", not "shells commands". ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Dan Harkless | To prevent SPAM contamination, please do not post this [EMAIL PROTECTED] | private email address to the USENET or WWW.
