Mhost is switching to a new provider this weekend. I've done
everything possible to try to ensure that this will be mainly
invisible. However, it is possible that you may try to access the
system at a time when the DNS is still in flux, so I thought it best
to send a warning anyway.
To simplify things, I've created an alias for the new system
"cvs.mhost.com" which points to the new system, so you can test
accessing it immediately, without waiting for the DNS entry for
"mhost.com" to filter out to your local name server.
The following command, executed from the top of your checked-out nmh
build files will update the CVS/Root entries in your repository so
that you will access the correct site. It makes a backup copy
"Root.bak" which you can delete when you're happy that it's worked.
find . -name Root -exec perl -pi.bak -e 's/[^:]*:(.*)/cvs.mhost.com:$1/' {} \;
I'll copy over the archive from the old system at around 8 AM GMT (3
AM EDT and 12 AM PDT). I'll also move the mailing lists and update the
DNS entries at the same time. You should avoid commiting to the cvs
archive, or mailing to the lists for about an hour on either side of
that time, just to be safe.
If you do wait for the DNS to filter through, and continue using the
mhost.com name, and use ssh to connect, you will receive a warning
about the host key changing for the server. This is correct, it is a
different host key.
Those who have ssh commit privlidges, I've transfered your public keys
over, so your priviledges should remain the same.
Mail me if you run into any problems.
