(It figures... after 2 years of lurking on nmh-workers, a discussion finally comes up that I want to join in on, but it's during a crunch week, make that a crunch month, at work...) So if I understand John Reinhagen's proposal, front-ends like mh-e would not be able to use his Perl objects, at least not without yet another layer of wrapper code (to provide a command-line interface over the Perl objects). If that's correct, well, would it really be that much more work to put the IMAP support into nmh proper? (This would be an alternate backend, not replacing the current file-based backend.)
