Got bit when I received a 28MB enclosure the other day. Discovered
slocal in nmh 1.0.4 was not honoring my TMPDIR environment variable.
Guess I knew all along that it was ignoring it but didn't really notice
until the fs /tmp was on filled up.

Is there some kind of security reason not to honor TMPDIR? I notice the
source to FreeBSD's mkstemp() does not honor TMPDIR either.
