Thanks for all of your feedback. A lot of people either use the book or depend on it as a reference. So I'll keep it on my to-do list! One person suggested moving the book to a public site like Savannah. I think I might try doing that -- and converting it to a more-useful format, like DocBook XML, at the same time. That would make it easier for other folks to contribute. It won't happen soon... but knowing that people still use the book lets me know it'd be worth the effort.
