OK all.. I've noted all the style comments. (What can I say, it was a first-cut port of somebody else's old and crufty patch ;). I've also discovered a buglet with its handling of '+' and '=' characters inside a ORCPT (they need to be quoted/escaped), so stay tuned for a revised patch.. ;)
