Upon further thought, that may not mean anything either.  Ooops.

Canonical is the company behind Ubuntu, which puts a user-friendly
gloss on the long-lived linux distro Debian.  Ubuntu is more or less 
the most popular linux distribution (at least for `users') at the moment.
