Dear Michael, I also use cal but not ncal.
I have a mobile phone with an internet connection, and I can also send text messages by email and place phone calls with a SIP client. I typically type the phone number in to the SIP client rather than using the clipboard, even if the SIP client is on the same computer, since SIP clients tend to have very specialized interfaces that I am not good at. I am thinking about setting up BareSIP to make this easier. I view ics files with show, without a special mhshow-show line in the profile. I have a computer dedicated to proprietary software, so if I wanted to take a call with Zoom software instead of with normal telephone, I would copy the link to a page on my web server and then open that page from the computer I use for proprietary software. I don't use calendar anymore; now I mostly use two paper calendars, one for travel and one for home. When event details are complicated, I store the details in a file (In fact it's a relational database, but the user interface is vim). I copy from the paper calendar to nmh with comp (vim), and I copy from nmh to the calendar with either pen or label printer. Your obedient servant, Krullen Van De Trap
