Preclinical and Translational PK & PKPD Scientist at AstraZeneca
We are now looking for a preclinical and translational PK & PKPD scientist to 
AstraZeneca in Mölndal, Sweden. You will work as a consultant at Proffice Life 
Science and you will be placed in the CVMD iMed DMPK department, within 
Modelling and Simulation, AstraZeneca Mölndal. The assignment is for two years, 
until 2016-06-01 with a start as soon as possible.
Description:
This temporary role as a translational PK & PKPD scientist will help provide 
projects with understanding and integration of the correlation between in-vitro 
and in-vivo ADME properties and the relationship between pharmacokinetics (PK) 
/toxicokinetics (TK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) responses including biomarkers 
for mechanism of action.
Major responsibilities:

·         Define and deliver the preclinical, translational PKPD strategy for 
efficacy and safety, in projects from Target Identification to Life Cycle 
Management

·         Design preclinical and forward/backward translational PKPD and TKPD 
studies and report results and interpretations to project teams

·         Deliver drug-drug interaction (DDI) predictions and risk assessments 
to project teams

·         Contribute to estimation of safety margins and make recommendations 
and predictions on human efficacious dose and exposure

·         Evaluate and interpret PKPD and TKPD data to prepare for internal 
governance bodies

·         Work collaboratively with other functions as needed to deliver the 
above (e.g. bioscientists, translational scientists, safety scientists, 
clinical pharmacology and pharmacometricians)

·         Document the work according to AstraZeneca GLS standards

·         Contribute proactively to a vibrant and innovative working 
environment where improvements and new ideas are adopted and freely shared
Key Deliverables:

·         Deliver the PK, DDI, PKPD and TKPD elements to project teams within 
the agreed timelines and to the right quality
Qualification:

·         PhD or equivalent level of experience in quantitative PK and PD 
related modelling & simulation of biological systems, ideally in a 
preclinical/translational setting

·         Track record of defining quantitative modelling strategies across 
several therapeutic modalities (e.g. small molecules, oligonucleotides, 
proteins, antibodies)

·         Track record of ability to meet timelines to pre-specified quality 
and cost

·         Specialist in modelling and simulation tools such as NONMEM, 
WinNonlin/Phoenix, Matlab, SimCyp

·         Understanding of integrative aspects of DMPK and pharmacology/safety 
aspects of drug discovery and development

·         Experience in pharmaceutical R&D

·         Experience in operating cross-functionally
