*GlaxoSmithKline-University of Florida Post Doctoral Fellowship*
Clinical Pharmacology Modeling and Simulation department at GlaxoSmithKline in collaboration with College of Pharmacy, University of Florida is offering a two year postdoctoral fellowship in clinical pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics and pharmacometrics. The overall goal of the position is to provide the postdoctoral fellow with research experience in both an industry and academic setting to aid the fellow’s development as an independent researcher who has the skills and experience to pursue a career in industry, academia, or a research/drug development setting. During the first year, the fellow will participate in clinical pharmacology, drug pharmacokinetic and metabolism studies and mathematical modeling with faculties at College of Pharmacy, University of Florida. The post doctoral fellow will be involved in the design, conduct and data analysis of clinical pharmacology studies as part of the learning experience. During the second year at GlaxoSmithKline, King of Prussia PA, the fellow will be part of a group that applies state-of-the-art quantitative methodologies to the development of compounds in the GSK portfolio, such as population pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic analyses, exposure-response, disease progression modeling and clinical trial simulations. The fellow may contribute to the design and analysis of first-time-in-human, proof-of-concept, drug-drug interaction or other clinical pharmacology studies. Using advanced techniques, the fellow may participate in modeling and simulation efforts for quantitative decision making to enhance study design, support candidate selection, provide dose rationale, and/or benchmark against competitor compounds. Minimum Requirements: Preferred qualifications for the position are Ph.D. or equivalent in pharmacokinetics, pharmacology, mathematics or relevant discipline with an interest in pursuing a career in clinical pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and/or pharmacometrics. Familiarity with basic statistical methodologies, prior experience with modeling and simulation and software tools like NONMEM, Monolix, R is a plus. Application Process: The fellowship starts July 1, 2016. A competitive stipend, health insurance, and travel to scientific meetings will be offered.
