Summer Internship

Alnylam was founded in 2002 on a revolutionaryvision and bold mission which

defined targets for the treatment of serious,life-threatening diseases with

Overview of the Program:

With RNAi technology, wehave the opportunity to treat disease and impact the 
lives of patients in afundamentally new way. Alnylam Summer Internships are 
designed to developpractical biotech industry knowledge and soft skill 
advancement, whilecontributing to the company’s overall mission and goals.

Internswill also participate in company wide functions such as Annual Community 
ServiceDay, Summer Outing, as well as events & development programs 
designedexclusively for these students.



Summerintern position in the Clinical Pharmacology & Pharmacometrics group. 
Job Description:  
Through this program, intern will gain experience in utility of 
quantitativemethods in supporting RNAi therapeutics for drug development of 
orphan diseaseindications. The students may interact with clinicians, 
biometrics, research,DMPK, or clinical pharmacology scientists.  Depending on 
the interests ofthe interns following projects may be assigned

 

·         Compartmentaland PBPK modeling of RNAi therapeutics



·         Exposure-responsemodeling



·         Systemspharmacology modeling of diseaseusing literature and in-house 
data



·         Statisticalmodeling of endpoints informing trial operating 
characteristics



Requirements:  



Strong understanding of fundamentalsof PKPD and hierarchical modeling of  
continuous and non-continuousendpoints. Proficiency with quantitative software 
e.g. Phoenix, R, and NONMEM.Exposure to Bayesian approaches is highly desirable.



Currentlyenrolled in a PhD degree program in Pharmacometrics, Pharmaceutical 
Sciences,Bioengineering, Applied  Mathematics/Statistics, or a related  field. 
Eligible to work on afull-time basis during the internship duration.
