Postdoctoral Researcher in Pharmacometrics

We have an exciting opportunity within the Clinical Pharmacology group at the
Mahidol Oxford Research Unit (MORU), Bangkok, Thailand. We are looking for a
bright and enthusiastic scientist with a PhD in
pharmacometrics/pharmacokinetics/pharmacology or related fields. You will work
at MORU in Bangkok, and report to the Head of Pharmacometrics (Dr Richard
Hoglund) and the Head of Clinical Pharmacology (Professor Joel Tarning). The
position will be primarily involved in developing
pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic models utilising clinical and non-clinical data
from the Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi). The main goal of this
collaboration between MORU and DNDi is to optimise the drug development process
and provide an evidence-based rational for dose selection of novel drugs for
neglected tropical diseases.

A successful candidate will be employed at the University of Oxford, and based
at MORU in Thailand. At the University of Oxford, we aim to lead the world in
research and education for the benefit of society both in the UK and globally.
The Nuffield Department of Clinical Medicine (NDM) is one of the largest
departments of the University and is part of the Medical Sciences Division,
with responsibility for a significant part of the teaching of clinical students
within the Medical School.

MORU is based within the Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University,
Bangkok, Thailand. Our main research interest is neglected tropical diseases,
with a special focus on maternal and childhood infections. Research is
conducted in Bangkok, and at our clinical research sites in southeast Asia, and
at collaborative research sites throughout Asia and Africa.

DNDi is a not-for-profit research organisation, based in Geneva, Switzerland.
We work with developing a diverse portfolio of drugs against neglected
diseases, such as leishmaniasis, Chagas disease, and filariasis. Our vision is
to save lives and improve the health of people living with neglected diseases
by using an alternative model to develop drugs for these diseases, and by
ensuring equitable access to treatment.

A successful candidate has a PhD in
pharmacometrics/pharmacokinetics/pharmacology, with a strong academic capacity
in the form of publications and/or other scientific outputs. You are
experienced in nonlinear mixed-effects modelling (PK/PD modelling). It would be
desirable if you have experience in pharmacometric/statistical modelling
software and infectious disease pharmacology.
