Dear nmusers,
Are you looking to enhance your PK-PD modeling workflows with a faster
and more flexible approach? At PAGE 2025, we invite you to our workshop
on IMPRES-M, a novel method that leverages smoothing techniques with
P-splines to efficiently describe PK and PD curves—allowing for
simulation and extrapolation just like conventional modeling, but
without the time-consuming model-building step.
We will host two versions of the workshop, one 1.5-day version where we
have time to dive into theory and details, running Mon 2nd of June and
Tue morning. Thereafter, on the afternoon of Tue 3rd of June 13:00, we
will host the half-day workshop where we will cover the basics, which is
still enough to get you started on IMPRES-M.
The venue is in the Concert Hall of Thessaloniki. For full details, see
the PAGE website or below.
I hope to see you there!
Best regards,
Jeroen
_____________ 1.5-day hands-on workshop _______________
Date and time
Monday 2nd of June, 9:00-17:00
Tuesday 3rd of June, 9:00-12:00
Venue
Megaron, Thessaloniki Concert Hall (Main venue) – Room CR-3
Instructors
Workshop host: Jeroen Elassaiss-Schaap
Workshop tutors: Vincenzo Di Iorio, Lorenzo Cifelli, Csaba Katai and Jie Ju
Workshop description
In this workshop you will be presented with the theory behind IMPRES-M,
and you will also get some hands-on experience fitting to data with
IMPRES-M, either your own datasets or one provided by us. We will start
off with general smoothing , followed by its application to
single-subject PK curves, population modeling, and eventually PK-PD.
Furthermore, we will present extensions that are under development so
you will also get to know where we will be heading next!
Learning objectives:
*
Smoothing with P-splines: theory and practice (useful tool, widely
applicable)
*
IMPRES-M theory for PK modeling
*
Hands-on single-subject PK modeling with IMPRES-M
*
Non-traditional population estimation (mixed effects) approaches
*
Hands-on population PK modeling with IMPRES-M
*
Hands-on PK-PD modeling with IMPRES-M
*
Ongoing research on IMPRES-M extensions
Target Audience
The target audience are PK or PK-PD modelers at beginner to advanced
levels, who would like to extend their modeling toolkit.
Prerequisites
Attendees need to bring their own laptop with a recent version of R and
Rstudio installed. Instructions to install IMPRES-M as an R package will
be provided beforehand.
