Monday: drone ban
The topic for my usual Monday national network radio tech segment will
be the enactment of a federal regulation a few days ago against the
import of any new model drones or drone parts from anywhere in the
world outside the U.S., a stupendously stupid action by the FCC -- at
the prodding of politicians in both parties -- that will devastate
search and rescue, law enforcement, farmers, utilities and many other
groups. The FCC's detailed reasoning looks like something written
during an acid trip, replete with nonsensical fractured fairly tale
scenarios that would be hilarious if this weren't such an important
issue. Government at its seemingly brain damaged worst.
