UPDATE Regarding Google promotional price and previous buyers of Google Home

In an earlier posting
I expressed dissatisfaction regarding the new promotion price of $99
being offered for the (excellent) Google Home device, only three weeks
after the device became available to consumers, and a week or so after
the standard return period ended for customers who had preordered.

The Google Store has now extended the return period to deal with this
issue. If you bought the unit at the original price, you can contact
the Google Store (I did it by phone) and they will email you return
labels to return the device postage free for a refund. Meanwhile, you
can buy the unit anew at the new $99 promotional price, saving $30.
Yes, it seems rather convoluted to do it this way vis-a-vis an account
credit, but hey, this is Google -- and frankly I'd have been a bit
disappointed if they'd made this too simple.

Bottom line, you can save that $30 if you act now. I'm told you'll
have 2 weeks to return the unit (that is, based on postmarked date)
after you receive the return labels. Also, note that I'm told that
this $99 promotion is only scheduled to last to November 28.

Thank you Google for doing the right thing for your early Google Home
customers!

The correct term is "Internet" NOT "internet" -- please don't
fall into the trap of using the latter. It's just plain wrong!
