YouTube issues a new strike against Alex Jones' channel over hate
speech and child endangerment

Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones' YouTube channel received a
strike on Tuesday for violating the site's community
guidelines, The Verge has learned. YouTube removed four videos
from Jones' channel, which has 2.4 million subscribers, that
contained instances of hate speech and child endangerment,
sources familiar with the matter said. YouTube channels are
deleted if they get three strikes in a three-month period.

For the record, I generally feel that YouTube's policy of "bundling"
strikes is a reasonable procedure, since it helps avoid innocent users
being hit with multiple fake complaints from having their channel
suddenly disappear completely overnight. The bundling gives affected
users time to file an appeal in such cases. Of course, Alex Jones is
guilty as sin, but it's crucial for Google to apply its policies in an
evenhanded manner -- which unfortunately is not always the case.
