More on the Internet age verification nightmare

The usual Internet access age verification model being suggested is
via third-party identity firms who would issue "this is an adult"
tokens to the sites and (in some cases at least) supposedly delete the
government ID information later.

I have absolutely zero faith that this model would operate as asserted
and would not be subject to hacks, leaks, other implementation errors,
LEO requests and court orders demanding retention and correlation of
associated data for other purposes, etc.

And I'll add, the LEO and court aspects will quickly spread in all
sorts of illicit directions. Imagine a Trump or DeSantis DOJ with
access to a database like that. -L
