Hi. I am totally confused by Moneywell's display of Money Flows from my Income buckets. Here is my situation:
I have three income buckets. My first bucket is for Salary. Currently I am on unemployment and I get $900 every two weeks. I deposit those checks and assign them to the Salary bucket. I have "Include in Combined Income" selected for this bucket. I have a second bucket for payments I get from a client for a web site I designed for him. He pays me $125/mon. However, I only bill him every four months. The last check I got from him was for $500 in August. I want to spread the money from this client over four months at $125/mon. To do that, I have created a third income bucket called Other Income. Each month, I put $125 from my second bucket into the Other Income bucket. The second bucket has "Include in Combined Income" unchecked and the third bucket, Other Income, has it checked. In the "Allocate Income" screen, I chose "Combined Income Buckets." It combined bucket one, Salary, which has most of my income, and bucket three, Other Income, which contains $125. The total is $1925. I then allocated all the money in the combined buckets until the balance remaining for new flows equalled 0. I then clicked 'save allocation'. What totally has me confused is the following: In the main Moneywell screen, when I click the Salary bucket to view its Money Flows it shows that $1800 flowed from the Salary bucket to the Other Income bucket. No other Money Flows are listed for the Salary bucket. I don't understand this at all because I never created a Money Flow from the Salary Bucket to the Other Income bucket. All I did was select "Combined Income Buckets" in the Allocate Income screen. When I click the Other Income bucket, it lists Money Flows of all the allocations I performed in the Allocate Income screen. Again, I don't understand this at all. I was expecting that the Salary bucket's Money Flow would show Money Flows adding up to $1800. Likewise, I was expecting the Other Income bucket's Money Flows to only tally $125. Did I find a bug or am I not understanding how Money Flows work?
