No Thirst Software Releases MoneyWell 1.4 with Direct Connect Banking
- Published on 12/08/08

No Thirst Software LLC today introduced MoneyWell 1.4, a free upgrade
to its popular personal finance software package. MoneyWell 1.4 has
over 50 new enhancements and gives users the top features they have
been asking for, including a one-button solution to download
transactions from hundreds of financial institutions and a redesigned
interface that's cleaner, more compact, and more informative.

The Woodlands, Texas - No Thirst Software LLC today introduced
MoneyWell 1.4, a free upgrade to its popular personal finance software
package that utilizes powerful envelope budgeting tools layered on top
of its full-featured check register system wrapped up in a non-
threatening, single-window interface.

MoneyWell 1.4 has over 50 new enhancements and gives users the top
features they have been asking for, including a one-button solution to
download transactions from hundreds of financial institutions and a
redesigned interface that's cleaner, more compact, and more
informative. International users are especially excited about being
able to import CSV files with custom field mapping. Other requested
additions are the ability to attach document or email receipts to any
transaction, user-defined bucket ordering, a new spending plan report,
new report grouping options, recurring transfer transactions, better
duplicate merging, more keyboard shortcuts, and improved performance.

"The features added are serious," said Art Kauffman, beta tester, "I
think they're way more than a point release. The new icons... wow.
[They] give a professional look and polish that should probably
warrant a 2.0 but I'm loving a free upgrade!"

"Our goal with MoneyWell 1.4 was to give people the tools they need to
be in control of their own personal budget and finances," said Kevin
Hoctor, No Thirst Software President, "Especially in today's economy,
our customers want to proactively manage their spending."

"I have always used Quicken and just moved over to a Mac this past
year," said Adam Hill, beta tester, "I've always been frustrated by
the 'spend now and review later' budgeting approach of Quicken. The
approach that you take with MoneyWell immediately made sense to me and
it has made having money fun rather than frustrating. I find it
liberating to have a spending plan that allows my wife and I to
allocate money to those things we want to do with money left after all
of our savings and investment accounts are funded. Rather than being
restricted by our budget, we are able to enjoy both the comfort of
saving and the fun of spending. Thank you for creating a program that
has helped us to find that balance."

First-time users now have the option to play with a sample document
where they can try out all the MoneyWell features and when they are
ready to start their own document, MoneyWell has a new guide that
walks them through adding buckets and accounts. For direct
connections, it's a simple two-step process: the user picks their
financial institution from a list, enters their username and password,
and MoneyWell accesses your available accounts, creates them,
downloads all available transactions, and calculates a starting
balance transaction for each account.

This new release of MoneyWell has expanded import options for users
who don't have the luxury of direct-connect banking. The first-class
QIF import has been improved with user-defined custom date format
functionality and OFX imports have better duplicate matching. The new
delimited file import feature lets users read data with several
different delimiter types, assign fields, and adjust other options all
while previewing the results before starting the import.

Minimum Requirements:
* Mac OS X Version 10.4 Tiger or higher
* Universal Binary for PowerPC and Intel
* 8.4 MB Hard Drive space

Pricing and Availability:
MoneyWell 1.4 is a free upgrade for all 1.x users and is still
available to new users at the introductory price of $39.99 (USD)
through the end of 2008 on the No Thirst Software website. Users may
download a free trial that is limited to 200 transactions and try
MoneyWell before buying. Free with every purchase of MoneyWell is
second-to-none support, online video tutorials, informative articles,
