I'm desperately trying to find an alternative to Quicken - which only
runs on my old Windows computer and I want to switch the finances over
to the Mac. The one feature that keeps getting in the way of finding
a new program is automatic downloading of transactions from my bank.
I've read a bunch about this and I can't understand why Quicken is
able to accomplish this with my bank, but MoneyWell (and every other
program I've tried) can't. For example, I use Navy Federal Credit
Union, which works just fine from Quicken (automatically connects and
downloads without any additional action on my part each time I run
Quicken). Why, then, does MoneyWell tell me that direct download is
not available from this institution? Can't MoneyWell just emulate a
Quicken connection? Is anyone an expert on this that can explain why
this won't work and whether or not there is a way to "trick" the NFCU
server into thinking it's downloading to Quicken instead of MoneyWell?
