One of the features I loved about Mint.com was that it always kept a read-only field that showed the Bank's description for each transaction. When new transactions are downloaded into MW, this is what shows in the Payee and Memo fields. For example:
STARBUCKS USA 00059675 12/13 CARD #3125 PURCHASE #24164078349355514194543 I prefer to track all of my MW transactions based on the actual purchase date rather than the posting date that shows up when downloading transactions. This makes it easier after the fact to remember the where and what of a transaction weeks ago. So my MW workflow goes like this: 1) Download transactions from the bank 2) Fix the default downloaded date, payee, etc fields Using the above example, after I overwrite the Payee as Starbucks, the bit of bank data that shows the transaction date of 12/13 is gone, so if I mess up and don't change the Date of the transaction in MW then that info is gone. It would be great if MW kept a persistent read-only version of the bank's description per transaction, so I could always see what the matched downloaded transaction information is, instead of having to login to online banking to look it up. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "No Thirst Software User Forum" group.
