I thought I already posted this, but considering it's been several hours, it doesn't look like the original posted for some reason. Also, I apologize if this has already been covered.
I really like MoneyWell, but there are a couple of things I would really like to see in the next version or possibly in an update... 1. In the transaction view I would really like more categories to sort them by... I would like to see, entered date, payment, deposit (instead of just amount), and balance, just to name a few. I would also like to see a column for type. I'm not sure I understand why in the Transaction Detail pane you can select the type (withdrawal, deposit, check) but you can't make it a column in your transaction list. Maybe also adding more types (POS, ATM, Online, Charge, etc) and the ability to manually add more if desired. I have noticed that almost all other financial software has these options. 2. I would also like the ability to remove categories. For example, I don't use checks, so I have no need for the "#" category. Also, I know that if you select a transaction, it will show you what your balance was at the time, but, as stated above, I would really like a column that shows you what your balance was after every transaction. 3. Next to the account name, it states my balance without the pending transactions. Again, I know that if I select the bottom transaction, it will tell me my balance after all of the transactions, but I would really like to see a "Reconciled Balance" (which wouldn't include the pending transactions, as it does now) and a "Total Balance" (which would include the pending transactions). Also, I think that the balance next to the accounts should be your total balance including pending transactions. Or, maybe the option to chose which balance (reconciled or total) you see next to your account. 4. Lastly, I would like to see the ability to have a color for a specific bucket. That way on my transactions list I can see how many transactions are for entertainment, automobile, groceries, etc. This could also be implemented in the graph below the transactions so as to see the differences in my spending compared to my types of income, instead of just seeing income vs spending. I know this seems like a lot, but I've tried a lot of financial programs, and these are the features that I think really help in organizing your finances. I love the interface of MoneyWell and I love the originality of the buckets. But, I believe that if these features were added, this program would be perfect. If any of these features are already available and I just missed them, I would love to be notified how it utilize them.
