Hi Kevin -

I started my Cash Flow Start Date at 2/1/09 and put what money we
wanted to start with since my wife and I got paid on the 30th of
January. I went ahead and just entered my transactions in the register
to get them in there and I am now getting around to assigning the
unassigned (things like clothes and household items) transactions to
buckets as I am fleshing out our spending plan. Any transaction that
occurred on 1/30 or 1/31 doesn't effect the buckets at all.

For example, I made a clothing bucket but didn't give it an
allocation. On 1/30 and 1/31 we had some purchases that should be
assigned to that bucket. I assigned them and expected the bucket to go
negative (it did) and I was going to do a manual flow from my
remaining salary to zero it out since I did spend that money on the
clothing.

I am doing this to really start refining my spending plan. I don't
have buckets for everything yet but after a month or two or regular
use I figure MW will show me what buckets I need to create and or
modify.

So I am assuming this has something to do with my start date. How can
I fix this to accurately deplete my Salary bucket? Should I just
change my Cash flow start date a few days back and will that affect
anything else?

Thanks
Lenny (as of yesterday and official registered user of MoneyWell!)
