I hear ya.  I understand the desire to get away from paper...for me
though, i like to have hard copies of my statements and a reconcile
report is my visual proof that it's balanced as of that date.  Maybe
it's a emotional thing (like the golden star on my forehead ;) )  what
i need to do, is get familar with your methodology of "relying less on
reports to having instant feedback" and rather than that golden star,
look for the green checkmark in the reconcilation area!
