Scott,

We used to break out our paychecks in Quicken (actually, my wife did
because I was too lazy to do it) but found that after doing all that
work throughout the year, we would only end up transferring a couple
of values from Quicken to our tax paperwork. So now, instead of
tracking financials that don't affect our cash flow, we just use our
summaries from our employers to fill out our taxes.

So many of us have been trained over the years to itemize and
categorize every detail so we can have detailed reports and graphs
only to find that we didn't improve our cash position by doing this,
only our software content. It's hard to let go sometimes, but I highly
recommend spending your time tracking what you can change and not what
you can't.

Let me know if you have any questions about the differences between
MoneyWell and Quicken please.

Peace,

Kevin Hoctor
