This question was answered off the list. Here is an update for other  
customers looking at this Canadian Bank direct connect issue:

As far as I can tell, Quicken doesn't support direct connect to  
Canadian banks either. They say they support "Web Connect," which is  
the ability to download and import transactions but not a true OFX  
server connection.

Now you may see that Quicken Online or other web finance services will  
directly connect but they are cheating a bit by logging into the  
website and scraping the information off the web pages. This doesn't  
give you all the details you would get from OFX or a download/import  
process though and they also require you to host your financials on  
their servers instead of locally on your computer.
