Hi!

I'm new to MoneyWell but one day of evaluation was enough for me to
decide that it completely fits my needs. The only problem I see is
absence of straight instructions on how to handle interpersonal
financial interactions in the application.

I owe money from other people and they owe money from me quite often.
I'd like to track such transactions in MW (they are cash only most of
the time). Problem is how to do this "correctly" mixed with buckets
paradigm. I hope next example scenario will help you to understand my
problem better.

1. We're with my colleague went to lunch together.
2. Upon payment time he found out that his wallet is in office so I
offered to owe him money and paid with my card.
3. During this day I forgot to get money back so not to forgot I
decided to track this in MW.
4. If I just put one transaction on my checking account with whole sum
of expenses and associate it with "Dining Out" bucket it would be
incorrect, because it will mean that I eat out for two persons and
bucket is emptied on larger amount than it really should.
5. If I split transaction and put leftovers to cash account it won't
be correct, because I don't really have this money. Moreover I might
forget that this is money I should get back.
6. I may transfer from cash to specific "person's" account. Main
problem is that I'll have to have huge number of such accounts - one
for each person I owe money.
7. Even if I transfer virtually money to "person's" account I'm not
sure how to document fact of getting them back, especially in terms of
what buckets to assign to transactions.

Please help me to overcome this confusion. Thank you in advance.
