+1 to this going in. Node boasts a lot about getting http right. This seems like a glaring omission when viewed through that lens. I totally agree that there should be an easy way to opt out. But I hope people aren't objecting due to "performance" concerns. The pull request linked above has gone through a few rounds of optimization. I'd hate to see half a dozen frameworks all with their own semi-broken implementation of this. Feels like one of those "do it once, correctly" type of deals.
