I'm a rails dev. And I want to use Node and a No-SQL Database for my next
project. Its basically an api service. The server backend has to collect a
lot of data in the background from more than one internal server, process
them and keep them, later for serving the processed data via a RESTfull
JSON API interface.

Is node the right platform for this? Also, I want to use Mongo for its
No-SQLness. Are stable* production-ready libs* available to do this with
node ecosystem? Please advise.
