This is because of the way linux handles the #!, it happens in all 
programs, you can change it to...

#!/bin/sh
/usr/local/bin/node --nouse_idle_notification --expose_gc 
--max_old_space_size=32768 <<EOF
console.log('gc exposed: ' + !!global.gc);
EOF
