Which version of cassandra is in place now? I noticed similar behavior in earlier versions. Is time_add a timeuuid/timestamp and is your key? However, cassandra can be extremely slow(~million rows) if u didn't have the right key (cassandra)data type. If you are using varchar, it could take a minute and it is very much possible that you are getting some wrong results too.
